Huey Remixed 2018: Elizabeth Obi & Olive Morris

On August 11, 2018, in Brixton, London, UK, a photograph of #ElizabethObi and #OliveMorris in a rattan chair, made by #NeilKenlock, was published on Instagram, #hueynewton.

Caption of the post: “documenting_fashion I went to @bcaheritage exhibition #Expectations that shows photographs of black community leaders in the 1960s and 1970s by the brilliant #NeilKenlock. I especially loved this photograph of #ElizabethObi and #OliveMorris – both members of the #britishBlackPanthers – their clothes reflect contemporary fashion and the powerful Black Style being asserted in the ‘70s – and the rattan chair recalls the one in the famous image of #HueyNewton. Morris was a leading figure in fighting for equal rights – there’s a council building named after her here in #Brixton.
